FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR
A place for all to learn & build confidence in finances
OUR MISSION
We aim to globally educate communities of color on financial literacy. Our goal is to help them build financial freedom and generational wealth by providing tools to change and prevent unhealthy financial behaviors.
Our model is built on 3 principals:
1. Build entrepreneurial capacity by providing guidance and support for those who need it.
2. Lower debt via education and budgeting materials.
3. Achieve long-term financial preparedness by arming our community with the tools to live life better in the financial realm.
About
FLPOC is an all inclusive organization. But our focus is on educating in communities of color. FLPOC’s support process will use its funding to provide financial services to people who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
Here is a step-by-step look at what the process would look like:
1. Attend one of our free seminars.
2. Determine that you would want to be a recipient of financial services.
3. Sign up to be entered as a recipient into the service most needed.
4. If selected, you will be required to participate in a self-paced educational course.
5. Upon successful completion, you will be paired with one of our financial services experts.
6. You will be put on a 6-10 month plan to revamp your financial posture.
7. Forever be a member of the FLPOC community and take your knowledge to share with others.

THE BEGINNING OF FLPOC
A note from the founder
FLPOC is an idea that came to me in the wake of the civil unrest that took place in 2020. I began to wonder, how can I impact the community in a way that would contribute to better treatment of minority people and communities? While I believe we have a long way to go, I do believe that educating POC to become more financially literate, will allow them to understand and recognize how to advance better in society. I have been learning and dealing with business, as a leader, for over 10 years. I obtained my Masters degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in leadership, in 2017 from Grand Canyon University. I have successfully created and continue to build my real estate portfolio as an investor. I own a successful boxing studio, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, in Torrance, CA. And I also work full-time as Federal Law Enforcement. I have always been passionate about helping others, whether through fitness, law enforcement or just from the kindess of my own heart. I have gained the knowledge base and experience over the years, that will be able to help under-deserved people and communities. I realize that aside from fear, financial stability and literacy are key factors that prevent people from being able to achieve their life goals. Unfortunately, most of our educational systems do not teach us the basic skills and knowledge surrounding finances. It is extremely important to me that I aide in facilitating and teaching these things to as many people as I possibly can. And from that desire, FLPOC was born.
